Nature as Creative Director — using Science to create magical, memorable and sustainable experiences

This talk introduces the ways that we can apply what we understand from Science to design experiences that are exciting, memorable and sustainable — how we can honour the environment whilst maintaining the beauty, luxuriousness and magic of our work. We take a tour through the various ways that our knowledge of the natural world can be extended into systems for thinking and integrating new experiences into the objects and environments that we create — showing how they have been applied and the remaining vast potential for creators of all disciplines to harness these ideas, whether we are creating an entire hotel, a rug or an new material.

The Future of Women in the Workplace

The Future of Women in the Workplace by Freelancer.com and General Assembly

There have been countless conversations over the last few years about the future of work, with the booming number of co-working spaces popping up everywhere, and "digital nomads" roaming the globe with their laptops searching for trusty internet connection. But what does the Future of Work look like for women in particular? Do we truly believe companies are doing more to support women, especially when starting families comes into play? Can women have it all, like having the ability to be home with the kids while working freelance? As part of International Women's Day, join Work.life, Freelancer.com and General Assembly for a fascinating panel discussion around the future of work for women.

Climbing Without a Ladder — The Entrepreneurial Path

As a speaker and member of a panel, we discussed how entrepreneurs grow in the entrepreneurial journey — from roadblocks, failure, mistakes and the accomplishment that comes from overcoming them — entrepreneurship is as much a personal journey of self actualisation as it is of being of service to others. I shared my personal journey of leaving corporate ambitions behind to blaze a trail in elevating the way women experience life, with the launch of my book, The Fulfilment Manifesto, at the start of my journey.

The Anatomy of Personal and Collective Fulfilment

As an introduction to the book, The Fulfilment Manifesto, I share the key components to personal fulfilment and why I believe that personal fulfilment is the foundation to creating a society we all want to be part of. I explore why creativity, taking risks and crusading against the status quo is worthwhile to put authentic, heart centred ideas into the world and is the necessary medicine for our time.
