Today, doing what I love the most, rethinking and drawing. I have spent most of the day developing a concept around education. I often feel that a few of the reasons remain disengaged is that their environment does not inspire them and the very important topics like global warming are not taught in ways that emotionally resonant. It is hard even for adults to feel pain that 'is not their own.' So I thought about how we could integrate ways in which a young people can make a contribution to society as they grow up. Concept is still pretty rough. Totally need to buy Copic markers for this... (MUJI I love you but your pencils are awkward for this) One thing I would like to do is learn how to incorporate a 'homely glamour' into the space - to make it a place that by default a student wants to respect because it was well made, whilst incorporating an area for collaborative design amongst the students (I sort of the believe that is subconsciously where the desire to draw on walls and table comes from - its big and everyone can join in too). Anyway, thats where I am for now...
